Hi, I'm TJ O'Brien.

Before I taught business English, I spent four years as a high school teacher in Philadelphia. Managing full classrooms taught me to read a room, adapt a lesson to very different learners on the fly, and write my own curriculum from scratch. Those are the group-teaching and personalization skills I now bring to company training.

In 2026 I founded TJ Teaches English to help non-native speakers communicate with confidence at work. I've taught hundreds of personalized lessons to learners from around the world, refining a method built entirely around each person's goals and profession.

My academic and professional career sharpened my command of English and my ability to explain complex ideas simply. That's the core of how I teach: clear, practical, and built on the real situations you face at work.

Now I'm bringing that same approach to companies: weekly group and one-to-one training for professional teams, built around their emails, their calls, their clients, and the words their industry uses. Always shaped to the team, never a generic syllabus.
